Pictures continued from the last post! (there’s a limit to how much you can upload per post I guess).

The OC Handmade Brigade’s Block Party was a success! We had tons of fun, took lots of pictures to share with you, sold some wallets and met a lot of wonderful people.

Also, it was our first fair, so I learned a lot. For example, it’s come to my attention that not everyone knows how a magic wallet works, so I’m going to create a video to post here and on etsy to let everyone in on the trick.

Things I’ve also learned:

I have to wear sunblock! I have the weirdest tan lines now, and have an outline of my sunglasses on my face D:

We need better signage, something that explains what I’m selling.

I need to stack more items at eye level.

A friend of mine thinks we need a store theme, but I don’t know…

::Sigh::

Basically we overall could use more improvement lol.

BUT I’m really happy with the turn out. We made our money back and got our name out there, which is a win in our book!

Also, we got attention from several buyers and are in talks for big things, but I don’t want to jinx anything so we’ll have to stay hush hush on that til things are set in stone!

Anyway we’re looking forward to the next fair!

The lovely people of the OC Handmade Brigade made this for me!

Today we got our vendor packet, and I’m pretty stocked about our placement. However, I’m really nervous about getting all my stuff there and setting up. Cypress isn’t going to be there and she’s usually the practical/organized one; I just keep my mouth shut and make the wallets lol.

Hopefully, it’ll all go smoothly::crosses fingers::

There’s only 10 days til the Block Party craft fair, and it’s full steam ahead til July 10th!

Cypress spent all night putting together our giveaways (pictured above) for the craft show and now she’s working on our business cards. This is our first fair, and every corner we turn we run into a new lesson we have to learn (sigh), but that’s okay, it means that in the future we’ll be better prepared for the next craft show!

Personally, we learn our lessons best through experience than word of mouth but that’s just us…

Anyway, we still have to make the signage for our spot, and have a ton of wallets to make so we leave you with this:

Cupcakes and crafts :D

Sorry for the grainy photo, but our digital camera ran out of battery and we wanted to snap a picture before the sun went down rendering our computer’s web cam completely useless (it does horrible when adjusting to room lighting.)

Anyhooooo,

We’ve started to make these lovely clips to add to the items we’ll be selling at the show. They’re completely hand-sewn, petals, clips and all.

We know the flower is huge, but we love large fascinators and such- probably to even out our giant heads hha.

The one shown is pretty simple, something you can wear everyday, but we hope to show you a couple with more bells and whistles in a few days.
